Why I Love Driving

My brain goes quiet when I drive. When I drive, there are no options. There is nothing else I can do except drive and soak in all my surroundings. Presence overtakes, and my thoughts untangle. The parts of my brain that are constantly telling me that I am not doing enough fade into the sound of the tires on pavement, and the road in front of me. Everything stills. I enjoy hiking for the same reasons, lost in the melody of moving with one option and one goal, keep moving forward.
